What to see and understand
The core visit includes the Great Stupa, carved gateways, monasteries, temples and the archaeological museum. Allow time to understand how these places relate to the city or region instead of crossing them off in isolation.
Planning the visit
Allow half or full day from Bhopal. The most comfortable general period is October to March, although seasonal conditions and festivals can change access, crowd levels and prices. Sanchi is compact but deserves slow viewing. Vidisha and Udayagiri can be added with separate road planning.
